Nurseries
Titirangi Rudolf Steiner School offers co-educational, non-denominational and independent education for children aged three to fourteen (Nursery/Kindergarten to Class 8) based on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner.
We are located on a beautiful site of over 29 hectares in West Auckland's Waitakere Ranges. It is a safe, peaceful and natural learning haven embraced by regenerating bush and bordering the Manukau Harbour, yet is only minutes from vibrant Titirangi village and 30 minutes from downtown Auckland.

Our Kindergarten is strongly affiliated to the philosphy of Rudolf Steiner. It also reflects the unique and diverse community and landscape of Waiheke Island. Fossil Bay Kinderagarten is situated in a rural farm-like setting. Ducks and chickens wander amongst trees, grass and gardens. The children benefit from and respond to the peace of this unique setting. The kindergarten morning is set with in a strong rhythm, which enables the child to feel a sense of security and belonging. It is set within the wider rhythm of the seasonal year, which culminates each term in a festival in which the whole kindergarten community is involved.

The Christchurch Rudolf Steiner School is a full Steiner school from nursery to class 12 ( year 13).
We have grown from a tiny school 36 years ago ( began 1975) to a full school of over 450 children including early childhood. We have one class per age group in the school. There are five kindergartens including a nursery group.
Demand for our education has soured over the last 10 years such that we have full classes with waiting lists in all areas except in the last two years of high school. We do welcome interest from International students and make allowance for 2 per high school class.
We have a lovely site with architecturally designed buildings, a high resource base and teachers who are experienced and committed to this wonderful education.
For further detailed information on courses, structure, backgroud info, teaching staff, newsletters and photogallery please go to our web site.

We are running a Waldorf-inspired playgroup in connection with Poipoi home-based care. We have found that home-based care fits with many of our 'Steiner' ideals allowing parents to have close contact with teachers, and children to play together in small, familiar groups in a home environment. We have been taking children aged 18 months to five and are now in the process of splitting into an older and younger group as it has been a challenge to provide for both. We aim to grow our Waldorf community in this way in preparation for a Steiner kindergarten to arise in the Bay of Islands.
We follow a rhythm similar to those you find in Steiner Kindergartens but find that having one 'educator' to four children allows for a little more flexibility and spontaneity. We are very fortunate in the premises we are able to use. We take long bush walks, buy our flour from the next-door organic grower, have adventures in the 'jungle' (banana plantation,) and watch the seasons affect the orchard from the sun drenched porch. We hope to involve the wider community more; connecting with the local school Oromahoe through it's festivals and inviting parents and relatives to spend time sharing a unique skill or story with the children.
